Writing--The World in 2030, students are generating ideas of what the world will be like in 2030.  In class we are reading 2030: A Day in the Life of Tomorrow's Kids by Amy Zuckerman and James Daly.  Students are using their imagination to think about how different their lives will be in 2030.  Students will keep a written record of their ideas about the future.  Below is a sample of one student's imagination:

Katrina 2030 Dec 6, 2011
1.   In 2030 the transportation would be hovercrafts, flying cars, skateboards, roller-skates, snowboards and much more. The buses that take you to school would fly and have food coming from the seats in front of you. In cars you press a button on the ceiling and jelly beans, lifesavers and pizza flavored fishy crackers appear.
2.  School in 2030 would have robot teachers that do not give you homework and in art we would go on our computers and look up the artist you want to study, then on the computer there is an app that helps you do the art that the artist does. Like for ex. Pablo Picasso does cubism and Heri Matisse does fauvism. Then you get a mark and you mostly get an a+ or a B+.

3. Gym in 2030 would have flying hoops for basketball, flying tennis balls for tennis, floating pucks for hockey, and flying volleyball nets for volleyball.
