Canada Day Bike Ride

Hi Grade 5 Parents and Students:

Below is an email from Kerry Chow inviting you to a Canada Day bike ride.  The details are below.  If you can make it, please let Kerry know.

Proud to be Canadian,

Mr.Wu

P.S. Unfortunately, I am unable to come.

Good afternoon everyone,

I'm hosting a Canada Day Bike Ride tomorrow at Creekside Community Center (Just south of Science World).

All families are welcome. Please ensure everyone is wearing a helmet. If your child is a beginner cyclist, please ensure that you accompany your child.

We will leave the Creekside Community Center at 9:30am and head towards Granville Island.

Once there...family and kids can have a light lunch in the market. After a light lunch, we will bike back to Science world. * Please ensure that your child has some money for lunch and a water bottle.*

** Please dress in anything red, to celebrate Canada Day **

Thanks

Kerry Chow

Dragon Boats and Barbecue Wednesday, June 18th

Hello Grade 5 Parents and Students:

It's dragon boating time!

Just in case you have lost the letter about dragon boating... here is the info and some extra directions about where to come and watch the race if you are free from 1pmonward.

Students should come to school wearing theirVCS T-Shirt, shorts and sturdy sandals or old runners. They should have a complete change of clothes and shoes and a small towel with them (in case they get wet). Please also make sure they have sunscreen, a warm jumper in case they are cold later and a snack and water bottle.

We will leave school at 9am and be back by3pm.

Here is some helpful information about how to get to where we are racing from Kerry Chow:

"If parents want to come down to check the races, please have them come down to aqua bus at science world.  The aqua bus stop is located in front of the Creekside Community Center.

For those driving, there is free parking on the streets or paid parking downstairs in the community center.

For those sky training, get off at main street/Science world.   Once there, walk towards science world. As you are facing west, take a walk along the seawall (150 meters). You should see the aqua bus stop on their right. "

(Thanks Kerry).

We are so looking forward to our trip tomorrow and the teachers promise not to get too competitive about which class wins the race...

Many thanks,

Michelle Redfern & Dave Wu
