Grade 5W Week of March 5th and 9th

Students have been learning about the regions of Canada for the past few weeks.  They are excited about becoming an expert on one of Canada's major regions.  Next week students will have no BMV or Spelling tests instead they will have time to work on their Social Studies assignment in class.

Below is one's student's reflection on how a class is like a winning team.

                                                                                                                                                                3/2/12
A Class is a Winning Team
A class is like a winning team because everyone cooperates with each to learn new things. Classes are also a winning team because everyone supports and assists one another when studying for a test. Winning teams are also like a class because they are a group of people who play with each other and trust each other. The coach is really much like the teacher because they both lead their students, players, and people into the right path.
How a student makes a winning team
A student makes a wining team because it is the main element of a winning team, without them a team cannot be made. The student/player needs to have trust between them. I would rather be in the “fourth line” than the other lines. Which means that I would most rather step in and out than actually be in the “first line”. Because I usually do minor things like clean up and do other things. I would rather be the trustworthy one.
Conclusion
These few things are how a class is a winning team and how students help.
